We’ve already seen that CBD oil can treat cancer, as it works to break down cancer cells and can alleviate some of the side effects that traditional radiation and chemotherapy treatments have. With that being said, it can be hard to use CBD oil to help with cancer, as there’s not really many guidelines in place for how to administer the doses.
With that in mind, we’ve written this guide to help those affected by cancer or caregivers for patients to help determine CBD oil doses for the various ways it can be consumed. We hope that you find this information helpful, and if you have anything useful to add, please make sure to put it in the comment section below.
The Best CBD Oil Doses for Cancer Treatment
CBD oil is a treatment method that can be used in a variety of different ways, and while there’s not a ton of information on it available in terms of doses, we have found some data that may be helpful. There are three main ways to consume CBD oil are:
- Topically- If you’re experiencing joint pain from your disease or your medicine, you can apply CBD oil directly to the spot causing you discomfort. You don’t need a lot of oil to feel relief, and I’d actually say less is better as it can stretch your supply out longer. If you’re a smaller person I’d recommend about two drops worth of oil from an eyedropper to start, and if you’re still feeling discomfort a half hour later I’d recommend putting another two drops on. Larger people may want to start out with about a dime-sized amount of oil, progressing with a few drops extra if you don’t feel relief within half an hour’s time.
- Orally- Topical use is good if you’re feeling joint pain, but if you’re seeking more general relief and want it faster, you can’t go wrong with taking the oil orally. In this instance, I’d recommend you take an eye dropper and put a few drops underneath your tongue. Those with smaller frames may start out with two drops underneath the tongue, while larger people should start with four to five drops in order to get fast results. As with the topical application, you can add more if you’re not feeling great about 30 minutes after the initial application. I’d start with one drop extra at that time to see results.
- Vaping- You can vaporize certain types of CBD oil (although not all). If you go this route you can discreetly use the substance on the go. I personally prefer this method as I can do it out in public and nobody is the wiser. If you go this route you will feel relief faster, but you may need to take more drags on your pen to keep the feeling going. I’d recommend newer users take about five puffs of the pen at first. You can then take additional puffs as you see fit, as it’s easier to deliver what you need.
What CBD Dose to Take For Cancer Treatment?
- Oral Drops- 0.15ml per drop, 3 drops every 6 hours
- Vaporizer- 0.5ml
- Topical- dime size application and rub in
Taking the CBD oil in any of the above-mentioned methods will work, but to get the best results you need to use the oil in the correct dose. For topical use, I recommend a dime size application. This equates to roughly 3mL, and will work to provide enough relief for most users. If you need more, you can add another 1mL every 30 minutes or so.
If you're going the oral route, I recommended a few drops (about 3) for starters. This equates to 0.15mL to start for new users. Experienced users should get 4 to 5 drops to start, which is 0.20 to 0.25mL. If you don't get the results you want, you can add 0.05 to 0.10 mL about a half hour later (1-2 drops).
Vaporizer cartridges are different as you generally fill a vessel up with the substance. Traditional vape cartridges hold about 0.5mL, but the technology that is utilized makes those cartridges last a lot longer. I'd recommend filling the whole cartridge and puffing away until you feel better.
Conclusion
There’s a lot of benefit to using CBD oil to treat your cancer, and nearly every way you can ingest it works to make you feel better. At the end of the day, the choice in how to use it is up to you, but I hope you got a good baseline in how to start with this guide.
